Aditya Dhar, the National Award-winning director of URI: The Surgical Strike, is all set to helm his next project, which is based on the covert operations carried out by the Indian Army to eliminate terrorists in Pakistan.
The film, which is expected to be a high-octane action thriller, will showcase the bravery and valour of the Indian soldiers who risked their lives to protect the nation from cross-border terrorism. The film will also explore the themes of patriotism, sacrifice, and revenge.

According to sources close to the development, Aditya’s next is an action thriller based on true events. “The film is inspired by recent terrorist killings in Pakistan. Aditya has researched on the subject and was fascinated with the way the operation was conducted. The terrorist killings in Pakistan are believed to be backed by the Indian Intelligence Agencies and Aditya will be tapping this untold story for the spectacle,” revealed a source.
The source further added that Aditya and the team are looking to make this a unique visual spectacle with an unconventional treatment not explored before in Hindi films of this genre. “The creators have researched the subject for months and have detailed information about these assassinations. Much like URI, this one too will be a thrilling and exciting story to unfold on the big screen. He plans to mount it on a big screen and will take on floors in April – May 2024,” the source added.
The yet-untitled thriller will get into the casting stage soon and the makers are looking to get an A-List actor on board to headline this mission-based film.
Yami Gautam Reunites with Husband Aditya Dhar for Another Project After “Uri: The Surgical Strike” and “Dhoom Dhaam”
Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar are all set to collaborate once again on their third project, a gripping political thriller based on true events. Under his banner B62 Studios, Aditya Dhar will produce the film, while Aditya Suhas Jambhale, a two-time National award-winning filmmaker from Goa, will take on the directorial responsibilities. Aditya Suhas Jambhale has garnered praise for his exceptional work in directing critically acclaimed short films such as “Aaba…Aiktaay Na?,” “Kharvas,” and “Amritsar Junction.” He has also helmed a feature film for Aditya Dhar’s banner, which is expected to be released soon on Jio Cinema. Impressed with his directorial skills, Aditya Dhar wasted no time in signing him up for this new political thriller. Yami Gautam, upon hearing the compelling script, enthusiastically accepted the project. The film revolves around a tenacious woman facing extraordinary circumstances, promising to be a thought-provoking drama. Filming for the yet-untitled movie is set to commence in September 2023, with major shooting locations in Delhi and Kashmir.
Aditya Suhas Jambhale’s debut feature film, “Baramulla,” is a horror movie set in the scenic backdrop of Kashmir, specifically titled after the beautiful town of Baramulla. The film stars Manav Kaul in the leading role and has the distinction of being the first movie to be shot on the picturesque shores of Wular Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Asia, located in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. The film’s production was made possible following the formulation of a new film policy in Jammu and Kashmir. Shot predominantly during the winter season, “Baramulla” is all set to release on the Jio Cinema streaming platform in just a couple of months.
On another note, Aditya Dhar, apart from his directorial ventures, has also taken on the role of producer for Yami Gautam’s film “Dhoom Dhaam.” This romantic tale revolves around a mismatched couple embarking on an arranged marriage journey. Pratik Gandhi, the breakout star from “Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story,” plays the male lead, and the film marks the directorial debut of Rishab Seth.
