After creating a buzz with its trailer and the emotional title track Bas Ek Dhadak, the makers of Dhadak 2 have yesterday unveiled a new romantic number titled Preet Re. Featuring the film’s leads, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, the song dives into the innocence and thrill of falling in love for the first time.
The track is a sweet, breezy celebration of young love. With lines like “Dhadkan yeh hi kehti hai, dil mein tu hi rehti hai”, Preet Re strikes a balance between heartfelt emotion and playful charm. The visuals showcase tender moments between the lead characters, painting a picture of a love story that’s both relatable and cinematic.

Sung by Darshan Raval, Jonita Gandhi, and Rochak Kohli, Preet Re carries a simple yet memorable melody. The music is composed by Rochak Kohli, with lyrics by Gurpreet Saini. The team’s collaboration brings out the essence of modern romance with a nostalgic undertone.
Darshan Raval described the song as deeply emotional, saying, “Preet Re is not just a melody, it’s a feeling. It’s about that quiet, beautiful moment when you realise someone means the world to you. It was an incredible experience working on the song.”
Jonita Gandhi shared, “There’s an innocence to first love, and that’s what we’ve tried to bring alive with this song. I hope listeners feel as connected to it as we felt while singing.”
Composer Rochak Kohli added, “With Preet Re, I wanted to blend simplicity with sincerity. It’s a song that celebrates pure, honest love without trying too hard – just like first love itself. I am overjoyed with how it has turned out to be.”
Dhadak 2 eyes August 1 release
Directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is produced by Karan Johar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa, Somen Mishra, and Pragati Deshmukh. The film is backed by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures. It is slated to hit theatres on August 1, 2025.
