After Dream Girl 2, Ayushmann Khurrana To Do Andhadhun 2? Here’s What We Know

Ayushmann Khurrana, whose comedy film Dream Girl 2 released today, has expressed his interest in doing a sequel of his critically acclaimed thriller Andhadhun. The actor said that he would love to explore the possibilities of the open-ended climax of the 2018 film, which left the audience guessing about his character’s fate.

Dream Girl 2 is a laugh riot, says Ayushmann

Dream Girl 2, which is a sequel to his 2019 blockbuster Dream Girl, will see Ayushmann reprise his role of a call girl named Pooja, who entertains clients with her seductive voice. The film also marks his first collaboration with Ananya Panday, who plays his love interest. Ayushmann said in an exclusive interview to another publication that he and producer Ekta Kapoor wanted to make the film funnier than the previous one and that it has no message per se.

Ayushmann Expresses Desire To Do Sequel Of Sriram Raghavan’s Andhadhun

Dream Girl 2 is Ayushmann’s second sequel after Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan which was a sequel to 2017 romantic comedy, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. When asked about any other movies of him that he would like to have a second installment to, the actor revealed, “I really don’t know; until I get a good story, until it reaches that milestone of the first one, there’s no point doing that. Maybe ‘Andhadhun’; I would love to because it has an open ending.”

However, director Sriram Raghavan has no plans of cashing in on the popularity of Andhadhun and making a sequel. “A sequel to Andhadhun? NO. In capital letters. Kuch cheezein adhoori hi hone se poori hoti hai (Some things are better left incomplete),” he told an entertainment website about four years back.

Ayushmann Khurrana has been a part of some of the most unconventional and progressive films in Bollywood, such as Vicky Donor, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Article 15, Bala, and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. He has also won several awards and accolades for his performances, including a National Film Award for Andhadhun. The actor said that he has always been careful about not crossing any line or hurting anyone’s sentiments with his films and that he believes in making cinema that reflects the society and its issues.
