After filming Pathan, Shah Rukh Khan will shoot a commercial entertainer for South filmmaker Atlee Kumar. The SRK-Atlee collaboration, which has been in the news for nearly two years, is finally set to go into production in the coming months. It will be made on a grand cinematic scale, with a budget of around 200 crores.
The latest update from the film states that the film starring Shah Rukh Khan will feature a wider ensemble cast. The yet-to-be-titled out-and-out masala potboiler would be a true Pan-India movie, with major performers from Bollywood and the South film industries joining the cast to play crucial roles. Nayanthara, the lady superstar, has been cast as the leading heroine and will be seen romancing SRK in her first Bollywood film.
Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra has also been enlisted as a member of the ensemble. The actress, who is currently working on SRK’s Love Hostel, will play one of the main characters in this Atlee film. She has signed on for the film and is ecstatic to share screen time with the King Khan of Bollywood, who is gearing up for a new chapter in his career with some global-standard, big-scale, content-driven projects.
Since the update of their collaboration in the media, Shah Rukh Khan’s project with Atlee has been much anticipated. Fans are hoping that the Tamil director, who has directed three box office hits with Thalapathy Vijay down South, will do the same with SRK’s film. The film’s pre-production work is already well underway, and we’ve heard that principle photography will begin in Mumbai by the end of October. The film’s exact filming schedules are likely to be finalised in a week.
