Till yesterday, a part of social media users were ‘boycotting’ actress Alia Bhatt for ‘promoting’ domestic violence against men in her upcoming film ‘Darlings.’ The movie released today, i e., on August 5 on Netflix. Bhatt is not only the protagonist but it also marks her debut as a producer. The actress has co-produced the film with Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. The movie also stars Vijay Verma, Shefali Shah, and Roshan Matthew.
As soon as the film started premiering and everyone saw how it is Alia’s character standing against domestic violence in the film, netizens started calling out the “boycott gang”. As we all are aware how important it is for Shah Rukh Khan to respect women, even his production company Red Chillies Entertainment is totally against domestic violence and will never support something like this even in their films.
Few hours for #DarlingsOnNetflix I am so excited 🍿 For all those losers, alia is not doing domestic vioIence in the film rather she is the victim of it & taking revenge in her way, portrayed in sarcastic way but depicting the trauma! Its the genre, Yeh Comedy thodi Dark hai 🤏🏼 pic.twitter.com/lgHxh9QVda
