Comedian Kapil Sharma, actor Rajpal Yadav, choreographer Remo D’Souza, and singer Sugandha Mishra have received death threats via email. The emails were reportedly sent from Pakistan and have raised serious concerns.
As per the latest updates, the threatening messages were signed off as “BISHNU” and sent from the email address don99284@gmail.com. One such email reached Rajpal Yadav’s team on 14 December 2024.
The message warned its recipients: “This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you, we urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.”
Mumbai Police Launches Investigation After In Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav Death Threat Case
Following this, Rajpal Yadav’s wife Radha Rajpal Yadav, lodged a complaint at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai. Police registered an FIR under Section 351(3) for criminal intimidation. Sugandha Mishra also approached the Oshiwara Police Station, where a non-cognisable (NC) offence was recorded. Remo D’Souza similarly filed a formal complaint with the authorities. Reportedly, Kapil Sharma has also filed an FIR after the incident.
Mumbai Police have started an investigation to trace the sender of these emails. Initial findings revealed that the threats originated from Pakistan, heightening safety concerns for these celebrities.
Saif Ali Khan Was Attacked Recently
This incident comes shortly after a string of recent violent episodes in Mumbai. Last week, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was hospitalised following a frightening knife attack at his Bandra home.
The attacker reportedly entered Saif’s house through his youngest son Jeh’s room. He first assaulted a house help before Saif intervened. The actor, who sustained multiple stab wounds, bravely fought off the assailant with his bare hands before seeking medical help. Two of his injuries were dangerously close to his spine.
Earlier, Salman Khan also received death threats, leading him to increase his security. The superstar even installed bulletproof windows in his residence as a precaution. These events follow the murder of politician Baba Siddique in Bandra last October. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang claimed responsibility for the killing.
Mumbai Police are now on high alert as they work to address these growing threats. The entertainment fraternity has expressed its support for the affected stars, urging the authorities to take strict measures against such threats. Fans have also rallied on social media, sharing messages of concern.
