A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The Roshans is expected to drop on Netflix in December 2024. The makers along with the core team of the streaming giant would soon decide on a date and announce it to the public.”
The Roshans will delve into the storied careers of the Roshan family, showcasing their contributions to the Indian film industry.
The documentary will spotlight the legendary composer Roshan, his musician son Rajesh Roshan, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, and his superstar son Hrithik Roshan. The project aims to offer a comprehensive portrait of this influential family and their impact on cinema.
Here’s Why December 2024 Was Chosen For The Release
The said source further explained that the timing of the release is strategic. December 2024 is a significant month for the Roshan family. Hrithik Roshan, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, will mark 25 years in the film industry in January 2025.
His debut film, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, which premiered on January 14, 2000, catapulted him to stardom. Additionally, January 2025 will see the 30th anniversary of Karan Arjun, a beloved film directed by Rakesh Roshan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. The release of The Roshans will generate considerable buzz, coinciding with these major milestones.
Director Shashi Ranjan started working on The Roshans in the first half of 2023. The documentary will not only cover the Roshan family’s journey but will also include interviews with prominent figures such as Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Vicky Kaushal’s father, action director Sham Kaushal.
On January 23, Rakesh Roshan shared a picture with Shah Rukh Khan on social media, expressing his gratitude for Khan’s contribution to the film.
The timing of The Roshans release is designed to build momentum for the anniversaries of Hrithik Roshan’s career and the iconic film Karan Arjun.
