The team of Agastya Nanda‘s upcoming war drama Ikkis held a special promotional event today that left everyone emotional. Stars Agastya Nanda and Jaideep Ahlawat opened up about their experience of bringing the inspiring story of war hero Arun Khetarpal to life on the big screen. The event was attended by students and film enthusiasts who got to hear firsthand accounts from the actors about this special project.
The super of the film, Bandeya ban ke dikha Ikkis, perfectly captures the spirit of the story. This is not just a war film. It is a tribute to the young soldiers who gave their lives for the country and the families who waited for them to return home. The actors shared deeply personal insights about what it took to portray these characters with honesty and respect.
Jaideep Ahlawat Opens Up About The Physical And Emotional Challenges
Jaideep Ahlawat got very emotional while talking about his experience of filming Ikkis. He revealed that every time he went up on a tank, went inside, and came out, some part of his body was scraped or cut. The physical toll of the role was immense. But he said that the emotional journey was even more difficult.
Jaideep explained that while Ikkis is about the journey of Arun Khetarpal, the story is not just about the 1971 war. It goes beyond that and touches the emotion behind a war. He emphasized that there are human beings inside those tanks and families who are waiting for them to come back. The actor shared that he realized how difficult it is to be in that space of uncertainty, not knowing what will happen in the war.
He added a very powerful thought. Those who were left behind in the war and those who came back home also fight a battle just as big as the ones who were martyred there. This realization deeply affected him while reading the script and preparing for the role.
Agastya Nanda Addresses Young Generation With A Message Of Inspiration
Agastya Nanda spoke directly to the students present at the event. He said that the main thing that stood out to him about this story is how young Arun Khetarpal was. Addressing the young kids who had come from school, Agastya expressed hope that when they watch Ikkis, they will be able to learn something from Arun Khetarpal. He described him as a very brave, courageous, and passionate soldier.
The young actor shared an inspiring message. If we take anything away from this film, it is that you are never too young to change the world. This message was especially for the younger people in the audience. Agastya also expressed his immense pride and gratitude to every soldier and every person who is part of the Indian Army. He gave a special mention to the Armoured Corps, saying he spent so much time with them that a relationship had formed. He ended his speech with the battle cry Ranveer Jay Sada from the Poona Horse regiment and Jai Hind.
