Ajay Devgn Denies New Film With Om Raut, Clarifies Unsung Warrior Project Talks Are Baseless

Ajay Devgn wasted no time in shutting down the latest round of reunion buzz with Om Raut. As speculation swirled around the actor allegedly signing another period drama based on an unsung warrior, his team stepped in with a blunt clarification that left little room for misreading.

Ajay Devgn’s Team Issues A Firm Clarification

In a joint statement from Ajay Devgn’s spokesperson and Devgn Films, the actor’s side dismissed the circulating reports outright. The note said, “We have come across recent media reports suggesting that Ajay Devgn and Om Raut are reuniting for a film based on an unsung warrior. We would like to clarify that there are currently no such discussions or collaborations taking place with the director. The story is baseless and entirely untrue.”

The statement further added, “Both Ajay Devgn and Om Raut are presently working on their respective commitments. We request media platforms and social media handles to kindly verify information with us prior to publishing and to reach out for any official confirmation regarding Ajay Devgn and Devgn Films.”

The strong response stands out because Devgn and Raut have already shared a major commercial success. Their previous collaboration, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, released in 2020 and emerged as one of the year’s biggest Hindi hits. Directed by Om Raut and produced by Ajay Devgn Films and T-Series, the historical action drama starred Ajay Devgn in the title role alongside Saif Ali Khan and Kajol. The film collected Rs 269.77 crore net in India, according to Box Office India, and remains one of Devgn’s biggest commercial successes.

That history is precisely why reunion whispers keep resurfacing. Earlier this year, Devgn stirred nostalgia when he marked Tanhaji’s anniversary with a Marathi message that translated to, “The fort has been captured, but the lion is lost, but the story isn’t over yet.” The post reignited fan speculation, though no official sequel or fresh collaboration with Raut has been announced.

A Busy Slate Keeps Devgn’s Focus Elsewhere

The denial also feels consistent with where Devgn’s career currently stands. With a packed lineup of sequels, star-driven entertainers and established franchises already in play, the rumor simply does not align with the actor’s confirmed slate.

In 2024, he led Shaitaan, the supernatural thriller co-starring R. Madhavan and Jyotika, which delivered a strong box office run. He then headlined Maidaan, directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, playing legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, before appearing in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha opposite Tabu. Later that year, he returned to one of his most bankable cop avatars in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which released in November 2024.

His latest confirmed theatrical release was Raid 2 in 2025, with Raj Kumar Gupta directing the sequel and Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor joining the cast. The road ahead remains packed as well, with confirmed titles like Son of Sardaar 2 and De De Pyaar De 2 keeping Devgn firmly in the commercial mainstream. For now, that lineup makes one thing clear: any talk of an Om Raut reunion is premature.
