Ajay Devgn’s exhibition venture Devgn CineX is preparing for its biggest southern push yet, with 18 new screens lined up across Bengaluru and Hyderabad by the end of 2026. The move gives the luxury cinema brand a sharper foothold in two of the country’s most competitive and cinema loving urban markets, while signalling that its ambitions now stretch well beyond a boutique footprint.
Expansion Plans Gather Pace
The company has announced an 11 screen megaplex in Bengaluru and a 7 screen property in Hyderabad, taking a significant step in its next growth phase. Devgn CineX says it currently operates 57 screens across 19 locations in India, with 30 more screens already underway in the current financial year. That makes the Bengaluru site one of the brand’s largest upcoming destinations so far, while the Hyderabad launch opens the door to a market known for premium moviegoing demand.
The wider play is not just about adding auditoriums. Devgn CineX has been building itself as a premium cinema chain, combining hospitality, curated food menus, immersive technology and alternative event programming with traditional theatrical exhibition.
Ajay Devgn And Ajay Agrawal Outline The Vision
Ajay Devgn, Founder, Devgn CineX, said, “Bengaluru and Hyderabad have always had a strong connection with cinema and the audiences here have given my films a lot of love over the years. With Devgn CineX, the aim is simple, to give them a great cinema going experience. These two properties are an important step forward and there’s a lot more to come.”
The company has also announced Ajay Agrawal as Chief Executive Officer as it scales operations. Positioning customer experience at the centre of the next phase, Agrawal said, “Bengaluru and Hyderabad are pivotal markets for us, and these two properties reflect the scale of our ambition. As we grow, our focus remains on building a future-ready organisation where every guest interaction, from the moment of booking to the last frame on screen, is seamless, personal and memorable.”
That strategy gives the expansion added weight for Devgn, whose visibility as a star continues to keep him closely connected to the core theatrical audience that Devgn CineX wants to serve.
Ajay Devgn’s Recent And Upcoming Work
The business expansion comes at a stage when Devgn has remained active across both theatrical and streaming formats. In recent years, he has fronted films such as Shaitaan, Maidaan, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Singham Again, while his OTT presence includes Rudra: The Edge of Darkness.
His last release Dhamaal 4 was super hit and next release is Drishyam 3.
That sustained screen presence gives added context to his cinema venture’s growth, especially as Devgn CineX pushes into Bengaluru and Hyderabad with a sharper premium positioning.
