It’s official — Esha Gupta is coming back to the Dhamaal universe but this time with a bigger part.
The actress has been cast as the romantic lead opposite Ajay Devgn in Indra Kumar’s ensemble comedy Dhamaal 4. Gupta will be returning to full-length theatrical cinema for the first time in a while.
From Cameo to Central: Esha’s Comeback
Some may remember that Gupta had a brief cameo in Total Dhamaal (2019), the third tier of the franchise. Now, she is able to play a bigger part — she is Ajay Devgn’s love interest, and the film promises to have absurd comedy, crazy set pieces, and some romance.
This is also the second major collaboration between Devgn and Gupta since Milan Luthria’s Baadshaho (2017), but this time, the genre (and mood) couldn’t be less similar.
Climax Action & Final Schedule Locked
Dhamaal 4 began filming back in March, and filming is expected to complete by the last week of June. The final schedule begins on May 15 and will see director Indra Kumar shoot a high-stakes car chase but also a massive fight, which will act as the adventure climax of the film.
The Core Cast Returns — With New Faces
The core cast that audiences have come to know and love from Total Dhamaal are all set to return for an all-new film of crazy comic chaos with Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Sanjay Mishra, and Vijay Patkar.
This time, numerous new faces make an appearance, including Ravi Kishan and Upendra Limaye, while Sanjeeda Shaikh and Anjali Anand also play female leads alongside Gupta.
A Comeback for Esha Gupta
While the casting of Esha Gupta fills the space of a known face for the franchise, it is also a comeback for her as she returns to mainstream theatrical cinema after an apparent break. Her last significant theatrical release was One Day: Justice Delivered (2019), while she was more recently acknowledged for her role in the web series Aashram, opposite Bobby Deol. With Dhamaal 4, she is coming back to the big screen with a bang — in a much-anticipated form of family entertainment and an action ensemble.
