The much-awaited opening ceremony of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is set to take place on January 22, 2024, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding over the historic event. The grand occasion will also witness the presence of several eminent personalities from various fields, including some of the biggest names from Bollywood.
According to reports, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust has invited over 7,000 people, including 3,000 VIPs, for the consecration of the Ram temple.
List of Bollywood celebrities who are likely to attend Ayodhya’s opening ceremony
According to a recent media report, some of the Bollywood celebrities who will be attending the opening ceremony include megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Bollywood stars Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, and ace directors Rajkumar Hirani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rohit Shetty and producer Mahaveer Jain.
The list also includes Arun Govil, and Dipika Chikhlia, who played Ram and Sita in the popular TV serial ‘Ramayana’.

Prominent personalities from South likely to attend Ayodhya’s opening ceremony
The trust has also invited prominent personalities from the South Indian film industry, including the legendary Rajinikanth, who is a devout devotee of Lord Ram. Other celebrities who have been invited include Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Dhanush, and Rishab Shetty have been invited for the Shri Ram Mandir event which will be taking place in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

The list also includes cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, industrialists Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani and Ratan Tata, yoga guru Ramdev, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
The trust has also sent invitations to representatives from 50 foreign countries, judges, scientists, writers, poets, journalists, and other prominent personalities. Families of karsevaks who lost their lives during the temple movement will also be invited.
The opening ceremony of the Ram temple will mark the culmination of decades of efforts, including the largest mass mobilisation post-Independence and a hard-fought legal battle, to reclaim the site. The idol of Ram Lalla (Lord Ram in child form) will be installed in the temple in the form of a five-year-old boy. For this, three idols are being made from two stones brought from Karnataka, and one from Rajasthan. The idols are almost ready and are being given final touches. The most beautiful idol will be selected for consecration.
For the unversed, the construction of the holy temple was started back on August 5, 2020, after PM Narendra Modi laid down the foundation stone of the temple.
The event is expected to attract a large number of devotees and visitors to Ayodhya, who will witness the historic occasion and seek blessings from Lord Ram. The trust has made elaborate arrangements for the security and safety of the guests and the public. The ceremony will also be telecast live on various channels and platforms for the benefit of those who cannot attend in person.
