Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar starrer Prithviraj have landed up into huge trouble by the Gujjar community for using the term ‘Rajput’. The Gujjars in Rajasthan have threatened to stop the screening of ‘Prithviraj’.
The Gujjar community claim that Prithviraj was from a Gujjar community and not Rajput. However, the leaders from the Rajput community have also rejected their claim and said that Gurjars were initially Gaucher, who then converted into Gujjar and then Gurjars which initially comes under the Gujarat region.
Himmat Singh, a spokesperson from the community said, “During the reign of Gurjar emperor Prithviraj Chauhan, the Sanskrit language was used but not the Pringal language which has been used by the poet.” “Prithviraj Chauhan’s father Someshwar has been connected with the Gujjar caste, and hence the son should himself be a Gurjar,” he added.
To the unversed, Prithviraj is an Indian historical drama film directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced under the Yash Raj Films banner.
