Sonam reacts on MLA Mungantiwar’s comments about LGBTQ community: “Ignorant, illiterate and hurtful”

MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar’s recent comments regarding the LGBTQ community drew a harsh response from Sonam Kapoor. According to reports, the politician was discussing the Maharashtra Public University Act, 2016, which intends to include LGBTQIA community members on university boards. He questioned the bill, saying, “Are you going to include lesbians and gays as members? Have some seriousness.” “Ignorant, uneducated, and nasty,” Sonam Kapoor wrote on Instagram in response to the same.

Sonam is one of the actors that is a strong supporter of the LGBTQIA community. In ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga,’ she played a lesbian character who falls in love with a female played by Regina Cassandra.

Sonam will be seen in an intriguing thriller titled ‘Blind’ in the near future. She finished filming the movie in Scotland early this year. Shome Makhija directed the film, which also stars Vinay Pathak, Purab Kohli, and Lilette Dubey. Sonam Kapoor plays a vision impaired teenager in the film ‘Blind,’ for which she was coached by a blind coach.
