Akshay Kumar recently attended the trailer launch of Khel Khel Mein at a multiplex in Mumbai. Joined by co-stars Fardeen Khan, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal, and director Mudassar Aziz, the star-studded event quickly turned into a lively affair.
Akshay, known for his wit, kept the atmosphere light with his humour and even participated in a fun game with the journalists. However, the event also saw the actor addressing a serious topic—his recent string of box office flops.
Akshay Kumar Says Everything Happens For A Reason
When a journalist began his question with, “Aap bahut interesting films kar rahe ho,” Akshay humorously completed it with, “Haan lekin chal nahin rahi,” bringing laughter and respect for his honesty.
He went on to share a meaningful story his father once told him. The story revolved around a farmer whose cow disappeared, only to return with more cows, and later, his son was saved from going to war due to an injury. The villagers reacted differently each time, but the farmer’s consistent response was, “Theek hai,” signifying that everything happens for a reason.
Actor Reveals Getting Condolence Messages After Recent Flops
Reflecting on his recent films’ performance, Akshay said, “My point is – jo hota hai, acche ke liye hota hai. I don’t think too much about it. My 4 or 5 films haven’t worked. And I get messages like, ‘Sorry, yaar’, ‘Tu fikar mat kar’, ‘Sab theek ho jaayega’. Abey mara nahin hoon main! I am getting obituary and condolence-type messages!”
He continued, “Some journalist even wrote in an article, ‘Don’t worry, you’ll be back’. I called him and asked, ‘Bhai, tu yeh kyun likh raha hai ki I’ll be back? Main gaya kahaan hoon?’! I am here and I’ll continue working, no matter what people say. I’ll get up in the morning, exercise, go to work and return home in the evening. Jo bhi kamata hoon, apne dum pe kamata hoon. I have never asked anything from anyone. I’ll keep on working till they have to shoot me down!”
