Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, Disha Patani And Shriya Saran Board Sajid Khan’s New Comedy

Akshay Kumar’s next ensemble has all the ingredients of a loud, old-school Hindi entertainer, and the casting alone makes it a conversation starter. Kumar is set to join forces with R Madhavan, Disha Patani and Shriya Saran for Sajid Khan’s new comedy, an untitled film that brings together sharply different screen energies for a broad commercial setup backed by Ektaa R Kapoor.

The development is especially interesting because it reunites Kumar and Madhavan so soon after Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, where they were seen on opposing sides in a far more serious narrative. This time, the mood shifts completely. The new film is designed as a full-scale comedy of errors, placing the actors in a much lighter and more chaotic world.

Cast And Genre Details

The film centres on Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan, with Disha Patani and Shriya Saran cast as the romantic leads. The story revolves around middle-aged men and unfolds as a grand, crowd-pleasing comedy, giving the project a distinctly mainstream Hindi cinema flavour.

That tonal switch is one of the film’s strongest hooks. Kumar has long thrived in comedy, and this project places him back in a zone that audiences strongly associate with him. Madhavan, too, brings an intriguing edge to the pairing. While he has handled humour before, this kind of broad Sajid Khan-style comic space offers a different challenge and gives the duo a fresh dynamic on screen. With Disha and Shriya in the mix, the ensemble gets both glamour and added crossover appeal.

Production Timeline

Production begins after Kumar completes Samuk, an alien survival thriller directed by Kanishk Varma. The comedy will be mounted on a start-to-finish schedule, with filming lined up in London by the end of 2026 or in early 2027.

Sajid Khan turns to this project after wrapping Hero Ki Horrorine, starring Yashvardhan Ahuja and Nitanshi Goel. That places the untitled comedy among the director’s next major moves, and it also signals Kumar’s continued interest in balancing genre shifts rather than staying locked in one lane.

Akshay Kumar’s Recent And Upcoming Work

For Kumar, the new comedy lands at a time when his slate remains notably varied. In 2025, he starred in Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh alongside R Madhavan and Ananya Panday, showing a more restrained dramatic side. His Bhooth Bangla and Welcome to the Jungle released in 2026, both titles were large-format commercial entertainment and were box office hits. His last release was Haiwaan which didn’t work at box office.

That is what makes this Sajid Khan film stand out. It does not just assemble Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, Disha Patani and Shriya Saran for the sake of star power. It positions them inside a genre built for timing, chaos and chemistry, which could make this one of the more closely watched ensemble comedies on Kumar’s slate.
