Akshay Kumar is known for giving importance to quantity over quality and does around five to six films every year. This year also, Akshay is doing several films in a variety of genres. One of the most anticipated films of this year is OMG 2. While the release date of the film is just around the corner, it has hit an unexpected roadblock all of a sudden.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has referred it to the revising committee. This means that the Examining Committee (EC) will watch the film and will provide a rating accordingly, like U, A, or U/A. But directors often approach the Revising Committee (RC) if they are unsatisfied with the cuts done by EC.
Adipurush Debacle Has Forced CBFC To Play Safe
As OMG 2 deals with religious themes, the censor board is trying to play safe. Last month, the mythological epic Adipurush faced a lot of flak for its tacky dialogues. The criticism was also directed towards the censor board for allowing such a film with no cuts and a U certificate. Adipurush eventually became a massive critical and commercial failure. So the board members are being very careful that they don’t repeat the same mistake.
