Akshay‘s Film Is In Trouble As ‘Gorkha’ Gets Postponed To Next Year Post ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ Failure?

Gorkha is a film based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo, a legendary officer of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army.

One of Bollywood’s top actors, Akshay Kumar, is currently going through a difficult time. His most recent film, Samrat Prithviraj, underperformed at the box office and has ended up being a massive flop after Bachchhan Paandey’s failure earlier this year.

The magnum opus, which was directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi was released on June 3 to great fanfare and starred Manushi Chillar, Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, and Manav Vij in significant parts. Samrat Prithviraj failed to earn even Rs 70 crore in the first week of release dismayed the entire team.

While the film has failed to impress moviegoers, now the recent reports claim that Akshay’s upcoming film Gorkha has been postponed. Depending on when the producers receive the necessary approvals from various ministries, the shooting will either start at the end of this year or in the middle of the following year.

Gorkha is directed by Sanjay Puran Singh, whose earlier film ‘Chadamama Door Ke’ starring Sushant Singh Rajput was also shelved and he has a history of stalled films and production issues.

Meanwhile, Gorkha is a film based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo, a legendary officer of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army. Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the role of the legendary hero who fought in the wars of 1962, 1965, and in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The film is in the collaboration with Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan.
