Alpha Teaser: Alia Bhatt Turns Sita Into Yrf Spy Universe’s Fierce New Soldier In Brutal First Look

Alia Bhatt has officially stepped into the YRF Spy Universe, and the first teaser of Alpha wastes no time in announcing that her character Sita is not being introduced as a conventional heroine. She is being built as a weapon. Released on June 10, 2026, the teaser gives the franchise a sharper, grittier energy as it tracks Sita’s journey from a young recruit to a combat-ready operative trained for dangerous missions.

The first glimpse leans heavily into physical action, secret programming and emotional stakes, positioning Alpha as a major expansion of the spy universe that has already delivered Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2.

Alpha Teaser Shows Sita’S Brutal Training Arc

The teaser opens on Sita’s 18th birthday, where she is seen with her father, played by Bobby Deol, at a restaurant. The moment quickly turns from intimate to intense when he assigns her a high-risk mission on the 34th floor of the hotel. From there, the promo reveals Alpha as a classified soldier program designed to create India’s next generation of elite covert agents.

Alia is seen throwing herself into hand-to-hand combat, motorcycle sequences and close-quarter fights, with the teaser underlining how early Sita’s training began. Flashbacks show Bobby Deol’s character mentoring her, shaping her instincts and preparing her for a life built around secrecy, danger and discipline.

The film also stars Sharvari in a key role, along with Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Yash Raj Films, Alpha is being mounted as the first female-led chapter in the YRF Spy Universe. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on July 3, 2026.

What Alpha Adds To The Yrf Spy Universe

Alpha takes the franchise into origin-story territory, with Sita’s transformation forming the emotional and action backbone of the film. The premise centres on a secret program that trains select recruits for extreme missions, while the teaser keeps its larger espionage conflict tightly under wraps.

With Alia and Sharvari leading the charge, the film marks a notable shift in scale and focus for the franchise. Shiv Rawail, who previously directed The Railway Men, is handling a big-screen action spectacle here, backed by Yash Raj Films’ spy franchise machinery.

Alia Bhatt’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Alia Bhatt’s last few years have moved between prestige drama, commercial cinema and streaming experiments. She led Vasan Bala’s theatrical release Jigra in 2024 and starred opposite Ranveer Singh in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in 2023. She also made her Hollywood debut with Netflix’s Heart of Stone in 2023.

Before that, she fronted Netflix’s Darlings in 2022 as both actor and producer, and delivered major theatrical turns in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Brahmastra: Part One: Shiva the same year. After Alpha, she is also attached to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
