The news that Amala Paul, a celebrity of the South, would be making her Bollywood debut in Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa broke last month. The actress has now begun filming in Varanasi for the movie.
In an official statement, the film’s creators shed some light on her character, stating,“While her role has been kept under wraps, sources tell us she is playing a Banarasi woman in the film. The cast and crew are expected to film in Benaras for a week.”Bholaa, which Ajay Devgn personally directed, also features Tabu, a close friend of his. The two also appeared in Drishyam 2, which was just released. There are rumours that Abhishek Bachchan will make a cameo appearance in the film.
The popular Tamil film Kaithi, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, was released in 2019, and its official Hindi remake is titled Bholaa. Amala’s first Hindi film, albeit it is her first Bollywood film, is Bholaa. She made her language debut earlier this year in the Ranjish Hi Sahi web series on Voot. The experienced producer and director Mahesh Bhatt, who also served as the show’s creator, was partially based on his life in the drama. The late actress Parveen Babi served as the model for Amala’s Amna Parvez character.
