Way back in January last year it was reported that Deepika Padukone will be a part of Hollywood classic The Intern’s Hindi remake. It was also reported that late actor Rishi Kapoor will be a part of the film too. However, after the demise of the actor, everything came to a standstill.
Now it seems the film is back on track and if reports are to be believed then Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in place of late actor Rishi Kapoor in the film.
Deepika and Amitabh’s chemistry in Piku was loved by the audience. Now we hope this new collaboration will also spread the same magic.
A source was quoted as saying, “The Hindi remake of The Intern hit a massive roadblock with the demise of Rishi Kapoor. This suddenly meant that the venture was missing a crucial member of the cast, and the makers had to re-analyze the casting.”
“Though it has taken a while, the makers of The Intern remake have now locked Amitabh Bachchan for the project and are looking to resume the shoot soon. Amitabh Bachchan has been cast to reprise the role that would have been played by Rishi Kapoor. Though it is unclear when the film will finally commence shooting, talks are on with the cast members to finalize dates,” the source added.
Hollywood’s The Intern starred Anne Hathway and Robert Di Nero in the lead role.
