Ananya Panday has reportedly chosen to star in the romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri opposite Kartik Aaryan, passing on Imtiaz Ali’s next project. The film (produced by Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures) will be their second on-screen pairing after Pati Patni Aur Woh.
Ananya Panday Chooses Kartik Aaryan’s Rom-Com Over Imtiaz Ali’s Next
As we reported earlier, Ananya was in advanced discussions with Imtiaz Ali for an intense romantic drama. Imtiaz Ali‘s film was supposed to be his next project before he works with Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri.
However, Ananya was also offered the rom-com with Kartik and both the films would begin shooting at the same time. Therefore, she had to make a choice.
Peeping Moon reveals that the actress decided to go with the romantic comedy, seeing it as a ‘safer’ option in the current market.
For Ananya, this is another big project with Dharma Productions. Tu Meri Main Tera will be her seventh film with the company, which she joined after her debut in Student of the Year 2 in 2019.
Her past projects with Dharma include Gehraiyaan, Liger, Call Me Bae, and the upcoming Kesari 2. Ananya is also set to star in Chand Mera Dil with Lakshya, which is scheduled to start filming next month.
About Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri tells the story of a mama’s boy who searches for true love after three failed relationships. The film is expected to be a family-friendly entertainer with a modern storyline.
Directed by Sameer Vidwans and written by Karan Sharma, the film is in pre-production and plans to start shooting in May 2025.
This project also marks Kartik Aaryan’s first collaboration with Karan Johar since their fallout over Dostana 2 in 2022. The reunion marks the end of their feud, which began after their previous action film project did not happen.
Kartik will start filming this rom-com after completing Anurag Basu’s next set to begin production later this month.
