Ananya Panday’s mother, Bhavana Pandey, recently opened up about the profound impact that close friend Shah Rukh Khan has had on her daughter and his own children.
Bhavana, who gained widespread attention with her appearance on the Netflix reality show Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives, shared how Shah Rukh went above and beyond to mentor the younger generation, especially when it came to sports.
Bhavna Says Shah Rukh Khan Is More Than A Father Figure To His Kids
During a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Bhavana revealed that Shah Rukh was more than just a father figure to his children—he was also deeply involved in training Ananya and his daughter Suhana in sports.
She said, “There’s so much to learn from him. And I am actually very glad that the children spent so much time around him because it’s not about being Shah Rukh Khan, it’s how he has been as a father to Suhana, Aryan, and now AbRam. And how he has been with my children. It’s been amazing.”
Shah Rukh’s commitment to fitness and sports was evident, as he would use his free time to train the kids, pushing them to embrace a competitive yet healthy approach.
Bhavana added, “Whatever free time he had, he wanted to train them, which was amazing. Sports, running, football, he used to do all the sports with the kids because I think he himself is a very active sporty person. Me and Chunky would get lazy for sports. Shah Rukh taught them the art of being competitive in a healthy manner, which was beautiful.”
Ananya Herself Had Previously Praised Shah Rukh Khan
Ananya herself has spoken about the profound influence Shah Rukh had on her growing up. In an interview with Mid-day, the actress reflected on how she saw Shah Rukh handle fame with ease.
She shared, “We didn’t even realise until he went and stood outside Mannat and we saw those thousands of people come. It was always like someone was like a father figure who taught us how to run on our sports days and practice Taekwondo with us. He was a very involved and present parent. The way he is with Suhana and AbRam and Aryan is amazing. He is one of the best fathers.”
Shah Rukh Khan: Work Front
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to shoot his next big action entertainer King. This Siddharth Anand-produced film is set to begin filming in January 2025 with Sujoy Ghosh as director. Suhana Khan will also feature alongside SRK in the film. Abhishek Bachchan will play the villain.
