What happened to No Entry 2? Director Anees Bazmee has finally broken his silence on why the highly anticipated sequel to the 2005 hit comedy has been kept on the backburner. The filmmaker revealed that there was a problem at the eleventh hour that stopped the project from moving forward despite all preparations being complete.
The sequel was set to star Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Arjun Kapoor. Speaking in a recent interview, Bazmee shared that he worked very hard on No Entry 2 and wrote a beautiful story for it.
Why No Entry 2 Got Shelved
Anees Bazmee explained that despite writing a wonderful script for the sequel, the film could not get made due to issues with one actor or another. He revealed that last time, they were all set to begin shooting with all preparations done. However, something went wrong at the last moment.
The director said that every film has its destiny. He acknowledged that it is unfortunate that No Entry 2 did not get made despite everyone being ready to roll.
Bazmee Calls It A Film Close To His Heart
The director shared that No Entry 2 remains a project very close to him and producer Boney Kapoor. He revealed that whoever has heard the script has praised it highly. People have told him that it is a beautiful film and should definitely be made.
Bazmee expressed hope that they will soon make the film. He said he is sure audiences would love it when it finally releases.
Director Plans To Return To No Entry 2
When asked about his future plans, Anees Bazmee confirmed that he would love to make No Entry 2 after completing his current project. The filmmaker is set to begin shooting an untitled comedy with Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan on January 20, 2026.
However, Bazmee mentioned that he has planned a couple more films as well. He explained that the gap between his projects happened because he was busy working on No Entry 2. The sequel has a huge star cast, so planning took a lot of time.
