Shahid Kapoor has been basking in the major success of his recently released crime drama web series Farzi. Both his performance and the show have been well received and reports are that it might be renewed for a second season. Now, Shahid has quickly moved on to a new project helmed by none other than the champion of the action comedy genre Anees Bazmee.
The shooting of the film will kickstart next month in August. While the pre-production was in full-swing Anees was looking for a title that would encapsulate the film’s essence. Now, according to media reports, the makers have narrowed down on a name. The film will be titled Ek Saath Do Do. The title is a play on Shahid playing a double role in the film.
Another interesting thing about the title is that it can also be read as 1.7.22 which holds a lot of importance in the story. Ek Saath Do Do also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role. The makers will kickstart the shooting in a specially designed set of a Rajasthani haveli. A source said, “A chunk of the film is set in a Rajasthani village. After the monsoon, the team will head to the desert state for an extensive schedule. Rashmika will join the unit after the second schedule.”
Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Was A Major Success
Anees Bazmee’s last directorial venture was the 2022 horror comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 starring Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, and Kiara Advani. Before release, people were apprehensive about the film because of its first installment being one of the most well-received films in Bollywood. Defying expectations, the film became a major commercial success. It grossed around 266.88 crore at the box office, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 2022. There were reports that he is working on a Rowdy Rathore sequel now.
Shahid’s Upcoming projects
Shahid was last seen in an action avatar in Alia Abbas Zafar’s Bloody Daddy which was released on JioCinema for free. The film was a remake of the French film Sleepless Night and was shot during the COVID-19 pandemic. His acting as well as the action sequences were well received. He will be next seen in an untitled romantic drama film opposite Kriti Sanon. This will be the first time he is being paired alongside Kriti Sanon.
