Irrfan Khan starrer Angrezi Medium is a story of a father-daughter relationship and a father’s struggle to fulfill his daughter’s dreams.
The film also has a mother-daughter angle played by veteran actress Dimple Kapadia and Kareena Kapoor which is a parallelly important track in the film.
Talking about the veteran actress, director Homi Adajania said he has her blind trust by ensuring that she is always in character and never made trouble while shooting.
Homi has cast Dimple Kapadia in all most every very film of his including Being Cyrus, Finding Fanny, Cocktail and now Angrezi medium.
Talking about Kareena, Homi said it was producer Dinesh Vijan’s idea to cast her. Talking to a tabloid he said, “ Kareena usually does a different kind of cinema, but the brilliant and intuitive actress that she is, she effortlessly blended into this space.”
He further told, “We got exactly the casting we wanted. Dimple is organic, fun and always uninhibited; she says it as it is. Kareena, too, was a dream to work with, confident to face the camera without make-up as she plays an undercover cop who’s often in stressful situations. The narrative takes a turn with Kareena’s entry; she’s the threat.”
Meanwhile, Radhika Madan will be as Tarika and Irrfan will be playing her father Champak. This is Irrfan’s first film after his health condition.
Deepak Dobriyal, Ranvir Shorey, Pankaj Tripathi, and Kiku Sharda will also be seen in the film. Angrezi Medium is slated to be released on March 13, 2020.
