Even as his next film, Anek, is gaining traction with audiences and netizens alike, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha continues to push the boundaries and construct a diverse repertory with his production company Benaras Mediaworks. Sinha’s next untitled movie, directed by Ratnaa Sinha, is a slice-of-life narrative. Ratnaa made her directorial debut in 2017 with Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda’s Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, which became one of the top-rated films on satellite that year. The picture became an unexpected hit and was one of the most-watched films of the year.
Ratnaa Sinha stepped up her game with her next project, a unique coming-of-age drama set in the desi environment. The film is a slice of life film that uses her characteristic method of giving storylines a lived-in feel. The film, which has yet to be titled, is produced by filmmaker Anubhav Sinha through his production company, Benaras Mediaworks, in collaboration with Zee Studios. The film’s release date is set for August 19, 2022.
The film is a far cry from Ratnaa’s previous directorial effort, which was set against the backdrop of India’s civil services and addressed the difficulties of a middle-class couple.
Preet Kamani, who previously appeared in Neeraj Udhwani’s Netflix Original Maska, plays the lead in the film. Along with Kavya Thapar and the ever-dependable Manoj Pahwa, the film also stars television actress Eisha Singh, who is making her big-screen debut. It also features some refreshing songs, featuring music by Himesh Reshammiya.
The film, which was shot in Dehradun and Rishikesh, as well as Pune and Mumbai, is a lighthearted coming-of-age drama that aims to be heartwarming.]
