Today is a historic day in Indian cinema, as the Oscar-nominated film Lagaan celebrates its 20th anniversary. The cult film was not only Aamir Khan Productions’ debut cinematic offering, but it also revolutionised the game in the Indian film landscape.
In honour of the production banner’s 20th anniversary, actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan shot an unique video, which his company’s crew published on their site.
In the video, the superstar praised not just everyone involved in the film’s production and journey, but also fans and moviegoers for their overwhelming support for Lagaan.

In the video, Aamir is seen dressed as an army officer, since he was shooting for his next film, Laal Singh Chaddha, after which he shot for this video, as he claimed.
Given the times, the actor also revealed how he was returning from the set and that he will be joining the complete cast and crew for a conference video chat to celebrate the day with everyone electronically.
The actor expressed his gratitude for the film’s creation, saying that though it presented them with various problems, it also provided them much more enjoyment, memories, and relationships. Aamir Khan thanked everyone involved in the making of the film, as well as the audience, for their love and support.
