Director Neeraj Pandey’s much-anticipated romantic thriller, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, is facing a tough time at the box office. Despite a slight uptick in collections on Sunday, the film failed to maintain momentum, recording a disappointing performance on Monday.
The film’s performance on its fourth day reflects a significant decline from the previous days. It opened on Friday with a modest Rs 1.85 crore nett, marking one of the weakest openings in Ajay Devgn’s career. Saturday and Sunday showed some improvement, but Monday’s figures have put a damper on the overall box office run.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha Drops BIG On Monday
On August 5, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha managed to pull in just Rs 1 crore nett in India. This figure is a stark 62.18% drop from its Sunday earnings, which had peaked at Rs 2.75 crore nett—the highest collection so far.
For context, this drop is quite severe compared to other recent releases. The spy thriller Ulajh, featuring Janhvi Kapoor, Roshan Mathew, and Gulshan Devaiah, saw even lower Monday earnings.
Currently, AMKDT has raked in an estimated Rs 7.75 crore nett domestically and Rs 9.5 crore globally. This is a far cry from its substantial production budget of Rs 100 crore. The film’s overall occupancy rate in the Hindi market was just 8.82% on Monday, starting with a dismal 5.3% in the morning and peaking at 11.7% in the night shows.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha India BO Collection
The film’s disappointing performance contrasts with some of Devgn and Tabu’s previous successful collaborations, like Drishyam, Bholaa, and Golmaal Again. AMKDT was initially set for a July 5 release but was pushed back, adding to the film’s troubled journey.
For fans of Ajay Devgn and Tabu, this film marks another entry in their impressive filmography but fails to match the success of their past hits. Despite the setback, the pair’s chemistry remains a highlight, as seen in their previous projects together.
About The Film
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha features a strong cast, including Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Saiee Manjrekar, and Shantanu Maheshwari. Despite the star power, the film’s appeal hasn’t resonated with audiences. This film marks another collaboration between Devgn and Tabu, who have previously worked together on hits like the Drishyam series, Bholaa, and De De Pyaar De.
Originally scheduled for a July 5 release, the film was postponed, and it appears the delay did not aid its performance. Despite the high-profile cast and the anticipation surrounding its release, AMKDT is struggling to make an impact at the box office.
