Vicky Donor, the film that launched Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam’s acting careers, is making a comeback in cinemas.
After nearly 13 years, the Shoojit Sircar directorial is returning to select PVR INOX theatres on April 18.

The official announcement came through PVR Cinemas’ Instagram, where they dropped the film’s poster and invited fans to experience the “magic” of Vicky Donor once again on the big screen.

About The Film
The 2012 film is a Delhi-based comedy that brings a bold and unusual topic to the spotlight—sperm donation. Ayushmann played Vicky, a carefree young man who becomes a sperm donor to earn some money. The film mixed sharp humour with real emotions and broke stereotypes around a taboo subject. It was a refreshing take on something no one really talked about back then.
The movie didn’t just win hearts, it changed the game for Ayushmann. He became an overnight star.
In a podcast interview with Honestly, he spoke about how sudden fame at a young age overwhelmed him. He said that after his first film became a hit, it got to his head. Coming from a middle-class background, he felt pressure to give his all to his new career in the spotlight.

Ayushmann, meanwhile, is gearing up for his next film Thama, a horror-comedy lined up for a Diwali release. Directed by Munjya fame Aditya Sarpotdar, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal.
Yami Gautam was last seen in Netflix’s Dhoom Dhaam. While she hasn’t announced her next big project yet, the re-release of Vicky Donor is sure to bring her debut role back into the spotlight.
