The next chapter of Dinesh Vijan’s Horror Comedy Universe is set to be bigger and bolder. After the roaring success of Stree 2, the makers are now gearing up for Thama, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles.
Scheduled for a grand Diwali 2025 release, this film is set to introduce an all-new supernatural conflict of ‘Bhediya vs Vampire’.
Thama To Bring ‘Werewolf Vs Vampire’ Conflict In MHCU
For the first time, Bollywood is bringing the legendary battle of werewolves and vampires to the big screen. A source close to the production revealed to Pinkvilla, “Thama introduces the werewolf vs vampire conflict, which will shape the universe in a big way going forward.” The film is currently being shot at a grand studio in Mumbai, where the biggest sequence of this franchise is being filmed.
Varun Dhawan is stepping into Thama for a power-packed cameo as Bhediya. He will go head-to-head with Ayushmann Khurrana’s vampire character in a high-intensity action sequence. This face-off is expected to be one of the most visually stunning sequences in Hindi cinema.
Maddock Plans Most Expensive Sequence In The Universe
Dinesh Vijan and director Aditya Sarpotdar are taking the film to a grand scale when it comes to execution. For this sequence, the makers have built an elaborate 5-acre set that recreates an entire cityscape.
The source further shared, “This is the most expensive sequence in the Horror Comedy Universe, with some of the best VFX artists from across the world working on it.”
Varun and Ayushmann recently shot for this action-packed sequence over two days, bringing their best efforts to the screen. The source added, “The cameo of Varun Dhawan as Bhediya is bombastic in Thama.”
Several International action experts are supervising the stunts and this sequence is expected to be nothing short of a spectacle.
Thama Will Make Way For Bhediya 2
Beyond the action, Thama is an important puzzle piece in the larger Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. The film will pave the way for Bhediya 2 while setting up new storylines and characters. Reports suggest that Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani are also expected to join the franchise with Chamunda and Shakti Shalini.
The source concluded, “Thama is on another level compared to Stree 2, Munjya, and Bhediya. The folklore inspiration, combined with cutting-edge visuals, will give audiences a never-before cinematic experience.”
