Varun Dhawan is set to take the action genre by storm with his latest film, Baby John, produced by Jawan director Atlee. The film’s Taster Cut recently made its debut in theatres alongside Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again, giving audiences a sneak peek into what to expect. Makers have now dropped it online to raise the excitement.
Baby John Taster Cut Shows Varun Dhawan In Many Roles
The Taster Cut introduces Baby John (Varun), whose story is narrated by a young girl, probably his daughter. She uses a strong metaphor, saying that even tiny ants can defeat a huge elephant. This message of resilience is a key theme in the teaser.
In the Taster Cut, Varun plays multiple roles. He appears as a tough cop, a determined action hero, a loving cook, and a caring father. His character has a rugged look with long hair and a beard in some scenes, while he is clean-shaven in his cop role. This range shows his versatility as an actor.
One memorable moment features Varun delivering a powerful line: “mere jaise bohot aaye honge, lekin main pehli baar aaya hoon” (many like me might have come, but I have come for the first time). He moves smoothly between tender scenes with his daughter and intense moments where he fights to protect her from his past.
Keerthy Suresh joins him in this action-packed film as his wife, making her debut in Bollywood. The cast also includes Wamiqa Gabbi and Rajpal Yadav, which adds more diversity to the film.
Jackie Shroff plays the villain, sporting long hair and delivering a memorable line, “Salute… salute karna zaruri hai.” The Taster Cut ends on a positive note with the phrase ‘Good vibes only’.
Varun shared the video on social media and wrote, “If this is the START, imagine the END, Baby. For now, watch #BabyJohnTasterCut. #BabyJohn will see you in the cinemas on Dec 25.”

Baby John is a Hindi remake of Atlee’s 2016 film Theri. The story follows a former cop who is determined to protect his daughter from his past enemies. The original was a big hit, so there are high expectations for this new version.
Produced by Jio Studios and Atlee, along with A for Apple Studios and Cine1, Baby John aims to offer an exciting experience this Christmas. The film is set to be released in theatres on December 25, 2024.
