Badass Ravi Kumar Star Himesh Reshammiya Calls Deepika Padukone A Remarkable Woman: ‘Launched Many Other Girls But…’

Himesh Reshammiya recalled how she stood out from the start in his MV Naam Hai Tera before making her Bollywood debut.

Before making her Bollywood debut with Om Shanti Om, Deepika Padukone starred in the music video “Naam Hai Tera” by Himesh Reshammiya. Even after all these years, the musician-actor still remembers her as a ‘remarkable woman’ and a born star.

In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, Himesh recalled working with Deepika and how she stood apart from others he introduced. “We launched many other girls, but they didn’t become Deepika Padukone. That’s all her,” he said. 

He praised her screen presence, dedication, and work ethic. The singer-actor feels that she had all the qualities of a star from the start.

Years later, Deepika and Himesh reunited on Indian Idol 11, where she thanked him for giving her the opportunity. She admitted she had no idea what she was doing during the shoot.

The experience became an important learning moment in her early career. She acknowledged that while many had lost faith in her, Himesh believed in her potential.

Himesh recently appeared in Badass Ravi Kumar, while Deepika was last seen in Singham Again. Now, she has the much-awaited sequel to Kalki 2898 AD.

There are also rumours that she has a special appearance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War. If this happens, it will mark her another collaboration with the filmmaker.
