Ajay Devgn is set for another high-intensity role, but this time, he is heading into the wilderness. The Singham star will soon begin filming Ranger, an action-packed adventure directed by Mission Mangal filmmaker Jagan Shakti.
Ajay Devgn Starrer Ranger To Begin Shooting From Next Month
As per a Peeping Moon report, the shoot will take place in Ooty’s dense forests, where Devgn will play Ranger Singh, a rookie forest officer fighting against animal poaching. Sanjay Dutt (who plays the antagonist) will join the shoot later. Filming is set to begin in the last week of March.
Unlike his supernatural jungle thriller Kaal (2005), this film is grounded in reality. It focuses on wildlife conservation while delivering intense action. Ranger is based on the 2018 book by Aseem Arora and Richa Ganesh, with Arora adapting it for the screen.
Makers Aiming To Wrap Up By September And Release In Mid 2026
Produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, the film is expected to be a large-scale action spectacle, shot across India and international locations.
Details about production are still under wraps, but reports suggest the film will be completed by September, aiming for a mid-2026 release. With thrilling action and an emotional storyline, Ranger promises a gripping cinematic experience.
Ajay Devgn: Work Front
Before stepping into the wild, Devgn will finish patchwork filming for Raid 2 with Vaani Kapoor in early March. He is also balancing multiple projects, including Indra Kumar’s Dhamaal 4, which is still in the planning stages. He has been juggling Raid 2, De De Pyaar De 2, and Son of Sardaar 2 back-to-back.
Devgn’s 2025 lineup is packed. He kicks off with Raid 2 on May 1, followed by Son of Sardaar 2 on July 25, and De De Pyaar De 2 on November 14. Drishyam 3 will begin filming in August, aiming for a 2026 release. Dhamaal 4 and Ranger are also set to hit cinemas the same year.
