Varun Dhawan has finished filming on Bhediya, a monster comedy directed by Amar Kaushik. With only one brief international itinerary left, the actor is on the verge of finishing Raj Mehta’s Jug Jug Jeeyo. And now, according to the recent reports, Varun is getting ready to start filming for the ambitious Sriram Raghavan-directed Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal biopic Ekkis, which is being produced by Dinesh Vijan.
“This is among the most ambitious projects of Varun’s career and the actor has been in prep more all through the last two years, learning more and more about the traits of an army officer. As Jug Jug Jeeyo nears completion, Varun is excited to slip into the first biopic of his career,” revealed a source close to the development to Pinkvilla.
From February 2022 forward, Ekkis is projected to be on the floors. Varun is slated to begin acting workshops with Sriram Raghavan in late November, which would include body language and diction instruction as well as mastering various sorts of war-based action. For those who are unaware, Ekkis was set to open in October 2020, but the pandemic flipped the tables on everyone involved. The filmmakers continued delaying the production because shooting a film of this scale with all of the Covid regulations would have been tough.
“They didn’t want to compromise with the vision in any circumstances as a war hero like Arun Kheterpal deserves a fitting tribute. With vaccination drives in full swing and the on-ground scenario getting better by the day, the team of Ekkis is bullish about shooting from early 2022,” the source added.
Varun’s earlier collaboration with Sriram and Dinoo was Badlapur, which was seen as a game changer for the Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya actor.
