Bawaal Trailer: Varun Dhawan And Janhvi Kapoor Play Star-Crossed Lovers In This Nitesh Tiwari Romantic Drama

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor are two of the most exciting stars in Bollywood. They have proven their mantle as performers but they hadn’t shared a screen together until now. In Nitesh Tiwari‘s romantic war film Bawaal, the two are playing lovers. Now, the makers have dropped the highly anticipated trailer of the film on the internet and it has created an uproar among fans.

The nearly three-minute-long trailer starts with a happy-go-lucky Varun Dhawan in Lucknow who falls in love with Nisha (played by Janhvi Kapoor). They got to Paris but quickly things take a dark turn as cracks starts appearing in their relationship. At one point, Varun’s character even calls her a “defected piece.”

Scenes quickly cut to black-and-white sequences of soldiers fighting the battle during world war II. Despite the grimness, the trailer has several funny moments and Varun shines in each one of them with his charm and acting chops.

The teaser of the film was earlier this week and met with mostly positive responses from everyone. Looking at Nitesh Tiwari’s track record with films like Dangal and Chhichhore, Bawaal will sure shot struck a chord with the audiences.

Bawaal is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Earthsky Pictures, and Ashwini Iyer Tiwari. The film was shot in several foreign cities like Paris, Berlin, Poland, Amsterdam, Krakow, and Warsaw as well as some Indian cities. It stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, and Mukesh Tiwari. Bawaal will be released on Amazon Prime Video on 21 July.
