Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the next chapter in the horror-comedy series directed by Anees Bazmee, is gearing up for its release. Starring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Triptii Dimri, and Madhuri Dixit, this film is set to hit theatres during Diwali 2024.
Recently, the makers unveiled a teaser that has fans buzzing. They plan to ramp up their promotional efforts with a theatrical trailer and music releases throughout October.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Locks A Major Non-Theatrical Deal Ahead Of Its Release
As per the fresh updates in a Pinkvilla report, Bhushan Kumar has secured a massive non-theatrical deal for the film, marking a record for both Kartik Aaryan and the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise.
Sources close to the project reveal that the digital, satellite, and music rights have been sold for an impressive Rs 135 crore. This deal reflects the growing popularity of the franchise, especially after the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
According to insider information, Netflix has acquired the digital rights, while Sony Network holds the satellite rights. Meanwhile, the music rights are managed internally by T-Series, which is optimistic about profiting from the film’s soundtrack. The album boasts five anticipated hit songs, and there’s a buzz around its potential.
Most Of The Film’s Budget Covered From Non Theatrical Deals
This non-theatrical deal covers a significant portion of the film’s budget. The production team has made a substantial investment of Rs 150 crore into Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, but thanks to these back-end agreements, much of that cost has already been recouped.
The source noted, “Anees Bazmee and Bhushan Kumar have left no stone unturned to mount the horror comedy on a grand scale.”
The timing couldn’t be better, as horror comedies are currently trending in the film industry. The success of the previous film has encouraged non-theatrical partners to invest heavily in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
“It is an awaited film, and comedies tend to do better on digital and satellite too due to the repeat value of the genre,” the source added. With Kartik Aaryan’s strong youth fanbase, digital platforms are eager to invest big, knowing that the OTT space is largely driven by younger audiences.
As fans anticipate the film’s release, the theatrical trailer for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is set to debut on October 6, 2024. The trailer launch will take place at a lavish event in Mumbai, featuring the entire star cast.
