Bhool Chuk Maaf, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, is expected to hit theatres on Friday, May 9. The movie has already achieved a victory by being approved by the CBFC without cuts.
According to reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave the film a passing shot on April 29. The Examining Committee (EC) gave the film a U/A 13+ certificate and advised there be no cuts or changes in any way.
A trade source said,
“Even though Bhool Chuk Maaf doesn’t have any dialogue or scenes that are objections, there is no certainty when and where the CBFC could tell us to cut something. Recently, in Raid 2 the CBFC substituted ‘Railway mantri’ for ‘Bada mantri’, and the word prick was muted in Thunderbolts.”
But in this situation, the source clarified the Examining Committee (EC) felt they had no reason to ask us to delete, mute or alter any section of the movie.
“It was an off-line process. In summary, the film is certified clean with even a single word being flagged.”
Film Certified U/A 13+, Runtime Locked at 2 HOURS 1 MINUTE
Bhool Chuk Maaf is among recent films receiving the U/A 13+ designation — this designation was issued by the CBFC as part of its revised classification system in November 2024.
The movie runs for 121 minutes (2 hours 1 minute), as per the censor certificate.
