This announcement follows the restoration of peace with the robust intervention from Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and the Indian Army.

Following uncertainty, Bhool Chuk Maaf — a romantic comedy from Maddock Films starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi — will once more be able to complete its full and intended release. The film will now premiere in cinemas globally on 23 May 2025.
The joint media statement emphasises that there is now a new climate of peace to allow stories and cinema to flourish again. All parties — Maddock Films, PVRINOX, and Amazon MGM Studios — were delighted that the project would be released in cinemas, as it was always intended.
“Now Bhool Chuk Maaf will be released as an homage to cinema, on the big screen” the statement confirms.
Dinesh Vijan Discusses the Need for Cinema’s Emotive Heart
On behalf of Maddock Films, its producer Dinesh Vijan stressed the emotional timing of the release:
“As things start to heal in our environment, we are grateful to be able to provide a theatrical experience for a film that is speaking from the heart,” said Vijan.
“We encourage everyone, especially during this time when family is everything, to make an even bigger deal of heading to theatres with their families… to enjoy a story that we hope brings them joy.”
