Aditya Roy Kapur is stepping back into a genre that has repeatedly delivered some of his most memorable screen moments, but this new outing is aiming for something far more muscular and emotionally charged. T-Series has announced an untitled musical love story that unites producer Bhushan Kumar, Aditya Roy Kapur and director Milap Milan Zaveri for a theatrical film built around passion, action and a music driven emotional core.
The film reunites Bhushan Kumar and Aditya after Aashiqui 2, Malang, Ludo and Metro… In Dino. With Milap coming on board after Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, the project is being positioned as an intense and violent love story mounted on a grand canvas, with music central to its storytelling and a 2027 theatrical release already locked in.
T-Series Mounts A Music Led Romantic Action Drama For 2027
The makers have confirmed that principal photography will begin later this year. While the film’s title and female lead are still under wraps, the announcement outlines a project designed as a sweeping theatrical experience, blending powerful romance, action and an emotional soundtrack.
Speaking about teaming up with Aditya Roy Kapur again, Bhushan Kumar said, “Our association with Aditya goes back many years and has given us films that audiences continue to love. From Aashiqui 2 to Metro… In Dino, every collaboration has been special in its own way. We share a great creative comfort, and I’m happy we’re coming together once again for a story that’s intense, emotional and mounted on a grand scale.”
Director Milap Milan Zaveri also explained why he saw Aditya as the right fit for this role. “Aditya has always had a rare ability to portray love with honesty and emotional depth. Ever since Aashiqui 2, audiences have connected with him in stories driven by passion and heartbreak. This character is layered, intense, and emotionally complex, and I couldn’t think of anyone better to bring that journey to life.”
What stands out here is the creative mix. Milap’s films have often leaned into heightened emotion and confrontation, while T-Series has consistently treated music as a major storytelling engine. With Aditya at the center, the new film appears to be chasing a mainstream big screen form of romance that is both bruised and operatic.
Aditya Roy Kapur’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Aditya’s recent slate has reflected a clear shift between theatrical films and streaming titles. He led Om: The Battle Within in 2022, followed that with the Disney+ Hotstar series The Night Manager in 2023 alongside Anil Kapoor and Sobhita Dhulipala, and returned to cinemas with Gumraah in 2023 opposite Mrunal Thakur. He also featured in Metro… In Dino, keeping him visible in ensemble relationship dramas even as he explored action and long form streaming work.
This newly announced 2027 film adds a large theatrical title to a lineup that also includes Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom, which is in production. More importantly, it gives his current phase a sharp commercial centerpiece, pairing him with a major music label, a director known for emotional intensity and a format that is being developed specifically for cinemas.
