Ranbir Kapoor is not just a superstar because of his incredible acting skills, but also because of his dedication and professionalism on set. It’s no wonder that his co-stars and colleagues in the film industry are full of praise for him. Recently, veteran producer Boney Kapoor, who shared screen space with Ranbir in Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar, shared some amazing stories that show just how committed the actor is to his craft.
In a new interview, Boney Kapoor couldn’t stop praising Ranbir’s work ethic, calling him a true professional who gives his all for every single shot, no matter how difficult it is.
‘Never Seen Him Complain On Set’
Boney Kapoor revealed that he has never seen Ranbir complain or “crib” about anything on set. He shared an example from the shoot of Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar in Delhi, where they had to work in the extreme summer heat. “We have shot for 16 hours at a stretch,” Boney said. He explained that to avoid the heat, they switched the schedule to shoot at night from 9 pm to 6 am. He was amazed that Ranbir accepted the change without a single complaint.
The Actor Who Gave 52 Retakes
The most incredible story Boney Kapoor shared was about Ranbir’s patience during retakes. He recalled a scene where a particular shot had to be done 52 times for different technical reasons. Despite the high number of retakes, Ranbir remained calm and focused. Boney admitted that when he had to do 15 retakes for his own scene, he started getting irritated. At that moment, Ranbir came up to him and gave some amazing advice. Ranbir told him, “‘Maine kare hai na 52 takes (I have done 52 takes myself); till the time the director is not satisfied, you have got to give it all.’”
More Co-Stars Praise Ranbir’s Dedication
Boney Kapoor is not the only one who has been impressed by Ranbir’s dedication. Actress Indira Krishnan, who will be seen as his mother in the upcoming epic Ramayana, also praised him. She mentioned how hard Ranbir worked on his physical transformation for the role of Lord Rama, working out for 3-4 hours every day. She also recalled her time on the sets of Animal, where Ranbir was so into his character that he would remain secluded and focused. She perfectly described his talent by saying, “He is like ‘atta’ (dough); you can mould him in whichever way, and he will come out like a ‘phulka’ (soft, puffed-up bread).”
