Brahmin Groups Announce Rs 1 Lakh Reward To Whoever Blackens Anurag Kashyap’s Face: ‘It’s Necessary To Teach Him A Lesson’

Anurag Kashyap sparked outrage after his 'would urinate on Brahmins' comment. He is facing massive backlash since then.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has found himself in the middle of a major controversy after a shocking comment he made online. His “would urinate on Brahmins” remark sparked huge outrage on social media and drew sharp criticism from religious and community leaders.

Brahmin Groups Offer Rs 1 Lakh To Whoever Blackens Kashyap’s Face

Now, several Brahmin organisations have come together, demanding strict action against him. Things took a sharp turn when six major groups joined hands and announced a reward of Rs. 1 lakh to anyone who “blackens Kashyap’s face.”

This protest is being led by the Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha and Pandit Suresh Mishra, who also heads Chanakya Sena. The joint meeting over the weekend saw support from other Brahmin outfits like Brahmin Seva Sangh, Akhil Bharatiya Brahmin Mahasabha, Vishwa Brahmin Parishad, and Akhil Bharatiya Brahmin Sangh.

Pandit Suresh Mishra reacted strongly to the comment in an interview with The Indian Express. He said the filmmaker had insulted the entire Brahmin community. Mishra defended their contribution to India’s unity and cultural heritage. He asked, “Has the Brahmin community not made sacrifices for this country?”

He also said that Brahmins have always worked for the good of all. According to him, many have even sacrificed their lives for the country. He further added, “There should be strong opposition to such destructive people in the society,” and said that people who try to break mutual respect in society need to be taught a lesson.

Suresh added, “In such a situation, it is necessary to teach them a lesson. There should be strong opposition to such destructive people in the society who are making nefarious attempts to end aapsi sadachar (mutual respect) in the society.”

About The Controversy Surrounding Anurag Kashyap

The controversy started when Kashyap responded to a post online. His statement went viral within hours. Many people called it hateful and accused him of encouraging caste-based discrimination. Social media users demanded an apology, and hashtags calling for his boycott began trending.

Soon after, Kashyap issued a public apology through a social media post. In the note, he clarified that his words had been misunderstood. He wrote, “I apologise for how the line was taken”

However, he didn’t take back his ideological views. His explanation didn’t calm everyone. Some supported him, but many felt his apology wasn’t sincere.

The backlash hasn’t died down. People are now urging authorities to take action against him. Though the public pressure is growing, no legal steps have been taken yet.

This whole issue has once again raised questions about freedom of speech and how far one can go when expressing opinions on caste and religion. Kashyap is known for his bold takes, but this time, it seems he has crossed a line that many consider unacceptable.
