Breaking: Sunny Deol Misquotes Fact, “Lagaan Did 2-5% Business Of Gadar”

The long-awaited film, Gadar 2, featuring the dynamic duo of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, finally hit theaters on August 11. The release has brought about an intriguing clash with OMG 2, a sequel starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam. What makes this face-off captivating is the stark contrast in genres between the two films. Interestingly, Gadar 2 has stormed into the scene with a massive impact, already amassing over 260 crore rupees in just six days, firmly establishing itself as a blockbuster in the making. This clash at the box office is reminiscent of the past when the original Gadar film, starring Sunny Deol, was pitted against Aamir Khan’s Lagaan. The history of such clashes only adds to the excitement surrounding these cinematic showdowns, as audiences eagerly await to see which film will emerge triumphant amidst this clash of genres and star power.

Sunny Deol’s Misquote: Lagaan and Gadar Box Office Comparison

In a recent appearance on Sudhir Chaudhary’s show, Sunny Deol was unfortunately off the mark with his statement about the box office performance of the iconic films Lagaan and Gadar. He misquoted the figures, claiming that “Lagaan did 2-5% business of Gadar.” However, the actual facts paint a different picture. Lagaan, starring Aamir Khan, managed to accumulate 35.50 crore rupees, while Gadar, headlined by Sunny Deol himself, raked in 74.88 crore rupees. This comparison indicates that Lagaan’s earnings were almost 47% of Gadar’s business, a far cry from the 2-5% range mentioned by Deol. This serves as a reminder of the importance of accurate information, especially when it comes to historical records and comparisons in the world of cinema.

People are sharing videos on social media that show Sunny Deol acting a bit different around fans and saying bold things. This has caught everyone’s attention and has led to discussions about why he’s behaving this way.

Sunny Deol Takes Dig at Katrina Kaif’s Reluctance to Do Apne 2

During the promotion of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol discussed the possibility of working on Apne 2 as well during his appearance on Viral Bollywood. A snippet of his conversation, where he seemingly indirectly referred to Katrina Kaif, has been shared by a Twitter user Apne ki kahani hai mere pas hai… dekhte hai aage jake kab shuru karenge aur bohot hi pyari kahani hai iss waqt jo Apne ki humare pas hai wohi family values hai jo the ussi chiz ki extension hai.”

Sunny Deol continued, “Bas abhi meri kuch actresses thi jo Maa ka role karne darr rahi thi, shayad ab karengi,”seem to connect with Ameesha Patel’s portrayal of a mother in the movie. While he didn’t specifically mention any names, his words suggest that he might have indirectly addressed the scenario of Katrina Kaif, who was just starting her career, potentially being hesitant to play a motherly role onscreen back then.
