Salman Khan’s much-awaited Eid release Sikandar continues to make headlines. The film has cleared a major step as both the movie and its theatrical trailer received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on the same day. Fans can now expect the trailer to release as scheduled on March 30.
Sikandar Trailer and Film Certification Details
According to CBFC records, Sikandar’s theatrical trailer runs for 3 minutes and 38 seconds. The movie itself has a total runtime of 2 hours, 30 minutes, and 8 seconds. Both have received a UA 13+ rating, meaning audiences above 13 can watch it with parental guidance.
This rare instance of simultaneous certification for both the trailer and the film has added to the excitement. With this clearance, cinemas can now open advance bookings.
Grand Trailer Launch Will Happen As Planned
Reports earlier claimed that the grand trailer launch might get cancelled due to security reasons. However, sources close to the production have confirmed that the event will go ahead as scheduled.
The Sikandar team has resolved all concerns, ensuring that the launch will take place at a multiplex in Mumbai’s suburbs.
Fans and media will attend the event, which is set to begin at 4 PM. The trailer will be released online around 5 PM.
Unique Release Strategy Of Sikandar
Unlike most Bollywood films that release on Fridays, Sikandar will hit cinemas on Sunday, March 30.
A source from the production team explained to Bollywood Hungama, “The makers believe Sunday is the best day for release. It’s a holiday, especially in Maharashtra due to Gudi Padwa. The next day is Ramzan Eid, and the post-Eid holiday effect will extend to April 2. Plus, with the weekend boost on April 4-6, the film will see strong collections throughout.”

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar features a stellar cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Sharman Joshi, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Prateik Babbar.
The story follows a man, played by Salman Khan, who starts off carefree but undergoes a transformation. He takes on the role of a protector for the oppressed, inspired by memories of his late wife.
