CBFC Passes 120 Bahadur With Zero Cuts: Farhan Akhtar Starrer Gets UA Certificate As Makers Plan Strategic Limited Release In Select Theatres

Here comes some fantastic news for movie lovers. Farhan Akhtar starrer war drama 120 Bahadur is all set to release this Friday, November 21. The film has been getting great buzz thanks to its powerful trailer and authentic storytelling. Now, the makers have made an interesting decision about how and where the film will be released. The paid previews of the film were held across the country on Tuesday, November 18, which is unusual as most films hold previews on Thursday.

According to trade sources, Excel Entertainment, the film’s maker, and AA Films, the distributor, have planned a strategic limited release for 120 Bahadur. The idea is to release the film only in cinemas that are frequently visited by the target audience. This means the film will focus on elite moviegoers and individuals interested in high-quality, content-driven cinema. In mass-dominated single screens, smaller multiplexes, and B and C centers, the distributors will either skip the release completely or go for very limited shows.

Strategic Release In 900 To 1000 Screens

The film will be released in around 900 to 1000 screens across India. This is a smart strategy that matches the film’s content and audience profile. If there is strong demand and positive word of mouth, the number of shows can be increased over the weekend or during weekdays. This flexible approach allows the makers to expand based on audience response rather than going wide from day one.

Another interesting point is that Mastiii 4 is also releasing on the same Friday. However, there will be no major clash between the two films. Mastiii 4 is an adult comedy targeting mass audiences and will focus on mass centers and the hinterland. Since both films are aiming at completely different audience segments, the show sharing will not be a problem. Each film will find its own space in theatres.

CBFC Passes 120 Bahadur With Zero Cuts

The biggest relief for fans is that 120 Bahadur has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification with absolutely no cuts. There was concern among audiences after the trailer played in cinemas showed the dialogue “Ahir hai hum” replaced with “Fauji hai hum.” Many netizens assumed this change would also be enforced in the final film, and the CBFC faced a lot of trolling because of this.

However, the final version of the film does not have this modification. The original dialogue remains intact. Moreover, despite being a war film with intense action sequences, the CBFC Examining Committee did not ask for any visual cuts either. The action scenes are not too gory or disturbing, which helped the film get clearance smoothly. The film was given a UA 13+ certificate on November 6. The runtime of 120 Bahadur, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 137 minutes. In other words, the film is 2 hours and 17 minutes long.
