CBFC Rejects Certification For 72 Hoorain Trailer Amidst Controversy; Producer Ashoke Pandit Responds With Disappointment, Watch Video

According to producer Ashoke Pandit, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has allegedly declined to grant certification to the trailer of the upcoming movie 72 Hoorain, helmed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. The film stars Pavan Malhotra and Aamir Bashir in prominent roles and explores the consequences of radical extremism.

Expressing his discontent, Ashoke Pandit has made an appeal to Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, and Prasoon Joshi, the Chairperson of CBFC, after the board reportedly refused to certify the trailer of 72 Hoorain. In a video message, Pandit criticized the CBFC for impeding their creative autonomy and freedom of expression. He pointed out the paradox of the film receiving accolades such as a National Award and recognition at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) while encountering a denial of certification for its trailer. Pandit raised concerns about the board’s decision-making process, citing inconsistencies.
