The first look of Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai in Chhaava was revealed on Tuesday. Rashmika plays the role of Queen Yesubai, the brave and strong wife of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal stars as Sambhaji Maharaj, the legendary king and warrior.

The makers also shared posters featuring Vicky’s commanding look, building excitement for this historical drama. Adding to the anticipation, the trailer is set to release on Wednesday.
Maddock Films announced this on Instagram, along with Rashmika’s poster, stating, “Behind every great king, there stands a queen of unmatched strength. Introducing @rashmika_mandanna as Maharani Yesubai – the pride of Swarajya. #ChhaavaTrailer Out Tomorrow! Releasing in cinemas on 14th February 2025. #Chhaava #ChhaavaOnFeb14.”
This film marks the first time Rashmika and Vicky will share the screen. It is also Vicky’s debut in a full-fledged historical action role, a shift from his usual work.
About The Film
Based on Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi book Chhaava, the story highlights the courage and achievements of Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The plot draws inspiration from the four elements of nature — earth, fire, water, and air — representing the king’s immense strength and resilience.
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the movie promises a grand visual spectacle. The music, composed by AR Rahman, adds depth to the film’s narrative.
The trailer launch event is scheduled for tomorrow and the full film hits theatres on February 14.
