Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has created a lot of buzz ahead of its release. The film (set in the 17th century) was doing well until a controversial dance sequence stirred some criticism. However, Laxman Utekar quickly responded by announcing the scene would be removed.
Now, the first track from Chhaava titled “Jaane Tu” has been released and it’s definitely getting attention.
Chhaava Song ‘Jaane Tu’ Doesn’t Fit The 17th-Century Vibe
The music video starts with Vicky Kaushal, portraying Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, expressing his love for his wife Yesubai. (played by Rashmika) The visuals beautifully show their emotional connection, with Yesubai praying for her husband’s safety.
The song is composed by AR Rahman and features classical instruments like the flute, tabla, and sarod, which create a soothing atmosphere. Arijit’s voice elevates the song’s emotional effect.
The chemistry between Vicky and Rashmika is undeniable. They portray the deep, unconditional love between Sambhaji Maharaj and Yesubai, and their bond feels powerful and heartwarming.
Some moments in the song were so emotional that they left fans with goosebumps. However, there’s a noticeable mismatch between the song’s modern feel and the historical setting of the film. While the music and visuals are rich with history, the track’s ‘contemporary’ vibe feels a little out of place for a 17th-century drama.
Despite this, “Jaane Tu” remains a beautiful and emotional track. It begins as a romantic ballad but ends on a more sorrowful note as Sambhaji Maharaj heads to battle. One impressive moment in the video is when Rashmika welcomes Vicky back with an aarti, but she can’t help but get lost in the sight of him. These small, tender moments add warmth to the song.
