With two states already granting tax-free status, there is a growing demand for Maharashtra to follow. The Mumbai Dabbawala Association has formally requested Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to exempt the film from tax in the state.
Association president Subhash Talekar explained the community’s deep connection with Sambhaji Maharaj, stating that their ancestors fought alongside him. He emphasised that both Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his son are revered figures in their history.
