Chudail Rights Row: Inside Ganesh Jain’s Public Notice Over Sunny Leone And Rahul Dev’s Film

Just as Chudail, the retitled Koka Kola, circles back into conversation, the Sunny Leone and Rahul Dev-led film has been pulled into a public rights showdown. A notice issued by Ganesh Jain has put the project in the middle of a serious ownership dispute, turning attention away from the film itself and toward who controls its digital, television and ancillary future.

Ganesh Jain Stakes Claim Over Chudail Rights

The notice, published in the October 3, 2026 issue of Complete Cinema, names Sugar & Spice Production, represented by Chirag Dhariwal and Param Deep Sandhu, as the production entity associated with the film. Jain has linked his claim to a finance agreement dated June 3, 2019 and a finance term sheet dated November 3, 2020.

Through that notice, Jain has asserted that he has the authority to negotiate the sale, licence or assignment of the film’s digital, television and allied rights. He has also laid claim to a far wider basket of exploitation rights, spanning copyright, intellectual property, remake, sequel, prequel, theatrical exhibition, satellite, streaming, video-on-demand, dubbing, merchandising, gaming and other rights across territories worldwide.

Public Notice Sets A Deadline For Objections

The notice goes a step further by stating that these rights stand assigned to Jain under the earlier agreements. It also asserts that the relevant copyrights, intellectual property rights and related interests in the film do not vest with Sugar & Spice Production.

Jain has further cautioned that any individual or company entering into a transaction involving the film’s IP or allied rights would be doing so subject to the consequences outlined in his claim. He has also called upon any person, copyright society or corporate body with an objection or competing claim to submit documentary proof within 10 days of the publication of the notice.

Film Details And Current Status

The project is identified in the notice as Koka Kola now renamed Chudail, with Sunny Leone and Rahul Dev listed as the lead actors. That detail alone gives the dispute a sharper industry edge, since it ties a retitled feature with recognisable cast names to a contested chain of rights.

No director, genre description or release date is specified in the notice. As things stand, the most concrete development around the film is not a launch update or release move, but the emergence of a formal rights claim now placed on public record.

What The Notice Means For The Film

For any film, clarity over ownership is critical before deals for streaming, television or other post-theatrical windows can move smoothly. In this case, Jain’s notice effectively places a legal marker around Chudail and signals that any commercial engagement with the title will now unfold under the shadow of that assertion.

That is what makes this development notable. A film that may otherwise have returned to the market as a retitled project is now being discussed through the lens of rights control, documentation and competing claims, with the next move likely to depend on whether any formal response follows.
